The Hindenburg The Suggested Elements For a naturally occurring catastrophe of human engineering, one can consider all the humans (engineers, managers, political strategists, the pilot, the media, etc.) that played a role in creating the event, along with the laws of physics, as co-authors of the presented elements, in conjunction with a myriad of co-authors of suggested elements limited only by one’s imagination. In this scenario, the suggested elements are invented from the perceptions of the viewers, with the authors of the visual messaging reversed engineered from the perceived messaging. From an engineering perspective, the suggested (perceived) elements could represent an instructional video authored by the laws of physics, where the purpose is to visually demonstrate why it is bad to use hydrogen gas in a rigid frame metallic airship. Using karma as the author criticizes the management of the entire situation, from the design of the airship to the explosion, with a function of scolding the bad decisions made by humans that led to the event, along with a purpose of teaching everyone involved a mortal lesson about money, pride, and politics. |
